Free Kicks project
The FREE KICKS project will host a number of online and in-person events, to share learnings from the project so that other football clubs and sports organisations can benefit and drive forward their own efforts in this area. The average European football match generates 0.8 kg of waste per spectator. This equates to 750,000 tonnes per year when all matches organised by European national football associations are taken into account. Moving to a circular model for resources is critical to reduce the environmental impact of football, and sport more widely.
